Overview
HQ is a family organisation app developed by LaserCloud. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Data We Collect
- Account information: Name, email address, and encrypted password when you register.
- App content: Shopping lists, budgets, expenses, tasks, birthdays, and related data you create within the app.
- Push notification tokens: Device tokens used to deliver notifications you have opted into.
- Notification preferences: Your choices about which notification categories to receive.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide the app's core functionality (shopping lists, budgets, tasks, birthdays).
- To send push notifications you have enabled (reminders, group activity alerts).
- To authenticate your account and maintain your session.
Data Storage
Your data is stored on a secure server located in the United States. Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. All communication between the app and server uses HTTPS encryption.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Your app content is shared only with members of family groups you belong to within the app.
Third-Party Services
- Expo (expo.dev): Used for app updates. Receives minimal device metadata during update checks.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used to deliver push notifications. Google receives your device push token.
- Amazon SES: Used to send password reset emails.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed from our servers.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access all your data through the app at any time.
- Disable push notifications through the app's notification settings or your device settings.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
HQ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
